Abdul Khudus Mohd Naaim
Islamic Accounting and Finance Specialist
Abdul Khudus Mohd Naaim, is a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants UK, a chartered accountant with the Malaysian Institute of Accountants, an associate of Malaysian Institute of Taxation and an associate of Institute of Co-operative and Management Accountants. Khudus is also a graduate of Diploma in Accountancy, Universiti Teknologi Mara.
On completing the accounting diploma in 1975, Khudus articled with international firm Arthur Young Kuala Lumpur and continued with a medium-sized chartered accountancy firm in London for four years. He spent next two years with a Luxembourg based financial group, Islamic Finance House PLC, as their Accountant in London.
Khudus served for about seven years in senior finance position with a Kuala Lumpur listed company, Syarikat Takaful Malaysia Berhad before taking up the Director of Studies, Emile Woolf Group of Colleges of Malaysia. He came back into practice in 1996. Khudus sits on the council of professional institutes. He is also board of director and audit committee member of public companies listed on Bursa Malaysia Securities Exchange and London Stock Exchange.
Khudus is an approved company and co-operative’s auditor. He is also a licensed liquidator, qualified company secretary and tax agent. He is and has been acting as receiver/manager, special administrator, independent adviser and monitoring accountant for Pengurusan Danaharta Nasional Berhad and financial institutions.
In the takaful and Islamic finance related engagements, Khudus has been acting as consultant to the operation of takaful companies in Malaysia, Brunei, Indonesia, Middle Eastern countries, West Africa and Thailand. Khudus has also been undertaking speaking engagements and presenting papers on takaful subjects in and outside Malaysia over the last fifteen years.
