Ahmad Mazlan Zulkifly
General Takaful Specialist
Ahmad Mazlan Zulkifly is an associate member of Chartered Institute of Insurance, United Kingdom and an Associate of the Malaysian Institute of Insurance (AMII). He holds Diploma in Insurance from Malaysian Institute of Insurance, Certificate in Insurance from Institute Technology Mara and Diploma in Business Studies from Institute Technology Mara.
He started working as Underwriting Executive at Tokio Marine Insurance from 1975 to 1984. Then he joined Syarikat Takaful Malaysia Berhad as Senior Manager, Technical and Underwriting Department until 1995. In 1995 he joined Islamic Banking and Finance Institute Malaysia (IBFIM) as a director that was responsible for and entrusted with the Takaful & Special Projects until 2004.
As a director at IBFIM, he was responsible to develop and ensure the continued growth and implementation of Certificate in Introduction to Syariah Concept, Certificate in Introduction to Islamic Banking, Certificate in Introduction to Takaful and Certificate of Introduction to Islamic Capital Market, Executive Certificate in Islamic Banking, Executive Certificate in Takaful, and Executive Certificate in Islamic Capital Market.
In 2005, he rejoined Syarikat Takaful Malaysia Berhad and became General Manager for Claims, Underwriting and Marketing. As general manager, he has been responsible to provide high quality services for both Family and General takaful products to the participants. He was also responsible to ensure the orderly management of claim operation in compliance with claims manual and any directive or circulars. He was also involved in setting up the Al Safat Takaful Company in Kuwait in 2006.
Mazlan was a member of the Management team at Takaful Malaysia and involved in all other facets of the Company’s operation. He left the Company in 2007 and is now undertaking takaful consulting and consulting engagements. Mazlan is heading the technical and underwriting activities for the General Takaful Business assignments of FIC.
